At Sibford, learning extends far beyond the classroom.
Our co-curricular programme is a vital part of every pupil’s journey — inspiring curiosity, developing confidence, and nurturing the values that help young people thrive.
We offer a diverse range of activities designed to educate, enrich, and excite — from sport and creative arts to technology, horticulture, and outdoor learning. Each experience encourages pupils to explore new interests, challenge themselves, and discover what truly motivates them.
These opportunities are woven into school life through our Horizon programme, which takes place at the end of the school day. Every pupil participates in at least two activities each week — with Years 7 and 8 enjoying three — ensuring that co-curricular learning is accessible to all. Beyond this, our before and after-school clubs bring pupils of all ages together around shared interests and passions, building a strong sense of community across year groups.
Horizon
Horizon is Sibford’s unique co-curricular experience — an integral part of the timetable where every pupil can explore new challenges, discover hidden talents, and develop essential life skills.
Activities are chosen to reflect both pupil voice and staff expertise, creating a dynamic and evolving programme that truly offers something for everyone. Whether pupils are interested in pottery, drama, amnesty international, e-sports, or community service, Horizon provides space to grow, connect, and contribute.
Pupils work towards their Horizon Honours Award, which celebrates commitment, enthusiasm, and achievement across their chosen activities. The award also recognises how well pupils demonstrate Sibford’s core values — Endeavour, Respect, Community and Kindness. The school year concludes with a special celebration, recognising the role that co-curricular learning plays in shaping confident, compassionate individuals.

Before and After School
Our before and after-school programme complements Horizon, offering further opportunities for pupils to pursue their interests and passions. From competitive sports training in rugby, hockey, and netball, to bouldering, swimming, and strength and conditioning sessions, pupils can continue to develop their skills and fitness.
Creative energy thrives after hours too — our performing arts pupils dedicate time to rehearsals in drama, dance, and music, preparing for Sibford’s annual production. Past performances have included Macbeth at Broughton Castle, Oliver!, Les Misérables, Cabaret, and Chicago — each one a true celebration of talent, teamwork, and joy.
