This is an exciting opportunity to join Sibford School as an enthusiastic full-time or part-time Teacher in the PE Department (with a football specialism).
All Sibford pupils enjoy a timetable of Physical Education lessons and Games a week, as well as a double Performance lesson a fortnight, set in more than 50 acres of beautiful grounds and surrounded by glorious Oxfordshire countryside.
The ideal candidate should have:-
- Proven experience teaching PE and Games
- Experience of teaching Academic PE, up to A-level or CTEC
- Expertise in Football (UEFA C Diploma would be an advantage)
- Expert knowledge of Physical Education and Games
- Accommodation may be available on site

Graduate Assistant
Full time, term time only – 40 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends (34 weeks academic year)
£26,436 FTE (£19,601 per annum, pro rata for term time only)
We are seeking to appoint an Graduate Assistant of Physical Education to run, and support, the delivery of PE. This is an excellent opportunity if you are seeking to develop a career in teaching or passionate about working with young people in another capacity.
You should have a passion for sport and physical education (taking part in sporting team activities would be an advantage) and want to
pursue a career related to teaching Sport and PE.
To be considered for either of the above roles you will be:
- Qualified as a coach or have specific qualifications in Physical Education.
- Have a specialism or deep knowledge of Football.
- Live in the UK, have the right to work in the UK.
- Have a good standard of written and spoken English.
- Willing to support various aspects of school life, including some boarding and weekend duties.
- Warm and friendly nature to be able to build positive relationships with pupils.

Senior Grounds Keeper
Full Time – 39 hours per week with some evenings and weekends
Salary dependent on experience – competitive package available including accommodation and school fee discount
We are seeking a Senior Grounds Keeper to manage the day-to-day preparation, maintenance and care of sports pitches, hard surfaces and general school grounds and gardens on our 50 acre site. The role manages contractors and has the potential to manage x 1 Grounds Assistant.
You should have proven experience of working as Head of Grounds or Assistant Ground Keeper in a school or similar setting, Sports Pitch Management, Grounds Management and knowledge of COSHH, Health & Safety and compliance requirements of this role.
The role requiries flexibility according to the weather and the needs of the business, this may may require some weekend working, and extended working hours in the summer months and shorter in the winter, and when covering for the caretaker (locking up).
Skills and Competencies required for the role:-
- Ability to use a range of grounds machinery and equipment
- Experienced in effectively manage a budget.
- Good and effective people management experience in the same or similar role.
- Organisation and administration skills and experience to fulfil the H&S and legal requirements of this role.
- Contract and Contractor management experience
- Experienced in driving a tractor and other vehicles used for mowing and maintaining grounds with the correct certification.

Swim Teacher
£18.54 to £22.66 per hour plus holiday pay (dependent on experience)
Term time only, 34 weeks plus Safeguarding training
We are seeking Swim Teachers to support us for the following hours –
- Regular Saturday mornings (Learn-to-Swim) 9.00am-12.00pm
- After school Learn to Swim
Swimming lessons are provided for Sibford pupils as well as pupils from visiting local primary schools during the school day. We also run a community swim school with lessons.
It is anticipated that the successful applicant would work regular hours on Saturday morning each week to ensure consistency with swimming groups either on their own or as part of a team when group size permits.
The successful candidates must:
– Be a qualified swimming teacher (Level 2) or equivalent
– Ideally have teaching and/or coaching experience
– Teach swimming lessons to all age ranges
– Understand Health and Safety requirements of a swimming pool
– Assess swimming improvement and recommend further development
– Demonstrate knowledge of safeguarding practices
– Ensure each swim group is managed safely
– Have excellent interpersonal skills
– Demonstrate the ability to work well on their own and part of an efficient team.

Governor
Sibford School is both a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. As such, our governors typically serve dual roles as trustees of the charity and directors of the company.
Governors set the strategic vision, constructively challenging current processes and using their unique perspective to support senior leaders in a variety of ways.
Governorship also represents an opportunity to develop additional professional leadership and collaboration skills, all while making a real impact on our children’s education. Previous governance experience is an advantage but is not required as training will be made available.

- Support the school through the process of ISI independent school inspections
- Uphold the values and ethos of Sibford, ensuring compliance with governance best practice and statutory requirements
- Oversee key areas such as finance, marketing, legal matters, or human resources (depending on your expertise).
Being a Governor requires commitment and dedication. Members of our Governing body are asked to:
- Attend a minimum of 6 meetings per year – sometimes online and sometimes in person
- Review reports and background materials in advance of meetings
- Set aside time to visit the school during working hours and attend key school events
- Undertake relevant training and attend seminars or conferences.
- This is a voluntary role.
