Our Junior School offers a vibrant and varied education in a supportive environment where children can explore, question, and build a genuine love of learning.

We promote a culture of self-respect, understanding, and tolerance, working to understand each pupil, and nurture their individual talents.

We have our own area within the School’s 50-acre campus, a unique space where small class sizes and exceptional pastoral care ensure individuals gets the attention they need to flourish—both personally and academically.

Space to belong

Our rural location is perfect for embedding outdoor education as part of a broad curriculum. As well as promoting academic progress, it is also fundamental in helping children to develop soft social skills such as communication and teamwork. By doing this, the children deepen their relationships with each other which, in turn, develops a sense of belonging.

The sense of belonging connects the children to their peers and to the school community, but crucially also their own learning. Through the Stewardship curriculum, the children develop a connection to broader global matters such as environmental issues, wherein they share an endeavour with their peers to make a positive change. 

Outside learning is a chance for children to actively shape their own progress, working cooperatively with each other, using their imaginations, investigating, assessing risks, and developing independence. The outdoor classroom transforms passive learners into architects of their own education within a system where they feel valued, feel known and feel that they belong.
