Creative Artsat Sibford

;

Creativity is woven into the fabric of life at Sibford.

Whether painting in our light-filled studios, performing under stage lights, or composing in a soundproof practice room, students are given the freedom and encouragement to explore, express, and create.

We believe the arts are more than subjects—they’re a powerful way for young people to find their voice, build confidence, and see the world through different lenses. From the youngest children to Sixth Formers, every pupil has the opportunity to shine in their own unique way.

Drama

Our drama studio and performance hall, complete with full lighting rig and raked seating, provide inspiring spaces for students to explore performance, production, and stagecraft. This summer sees the building of our exciting outdoor community theatre. Drama at Sibford is an invitation to step into someone else’s shoes—and to grow while doing it. Classes learn the value of working as an ensemble.

Each year, our school production brings the whole community together—on stage, behind the scenes, and in the audience. Recent productions such as Les Misérables, Cabaret, and Macbeth, at Broughton castle, have seen students take centre stage as performers, set designers, costume makers, and technical crew. Everyone plays a part, and every part is valued.

Sibford is proud to offer extra-curricular LAMDA lessons, available individually or in pairs from Year 3 – 13. These sessions help develop confidence, vocal and physical communication skills and creativity in students.

Music

Our Music School offers first-class facilities, from practice rooms to recording and technical studios. Whether rehearsing in a band, orchestra, or solo performance, students of all levels find a place to grow and perform. There are numerous performing opportunities from the ‘Sound of Sibford’ at the Mill Arts Centre Banbury, Christmas Concerts, instrumental showcases, music meetings or competing in music festivals.

From Early Years through to Sixth Form, pupils are encouraged to learn instruments, join ensembles, and take part in concerts and performances. With brass, woodwind, strings, percussion, piano, and guitar on offer, musical expression is open to all—whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or preparing for a Grade 8 exam.

Art & Design

Our purpose-built Art School is a vibrant hub of creativity, housing studios for painting, textiles, ceramics, and sculpture. Whether experimenting with colour or shaping clay, pupils are encouraged to explore a range of materials and techniques. Work is regularly celebrated in our on-site gallery, giving students the experience of exhibiting in a professional space.

In Design & Technology, ideas are brought to life through a fully equipped suite that supports work in wood, metal, and plastics. Our Food and Nutrition facilities also inspire creativity—with eight self-contained kitchens and a live demonstration space, pupils learn the art of cooking in a space that mirrors a professional environment.
